Liberty Shines Through

Liberty Shines Through

If Liberty were placed in a box, she would still shine through. That’s what my photo aims to represent.

I took the image of this miniature replica at the museum inside the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty in Liberty Island, New York. A lot more can be learned about the history and construction of the monumental icon of freedom through the displays in the exhibit. Though I’m not American, I felt moved by what I saw as anyone who understands the meaning of freedom would.

Freedom means the opportunity to be what we never thought we would be. – Daniel J. Boorstin

Freedom is the open window through which pours the sunlight of the human spirit and human dignity. – Herbert Hoover

I'm currently a Corporate agent, a Poker player, and an investor. I have quite a wide spectrum of interests and have been bold in pursuing them in order to fulfill a dream, to feed a curiosity, or to live out a passion. I am usually found to be constantly exploring with my mind or with my feet. Given this medium (your glimpse of my world), I am enthused to express in words and in images a bit of my learning and my discoveries and to hone some raw skills which I hope will display progress as I go along.

    • Thank you. πŸ™‚ Yeah, I shared them because I felt they were appropriate to the messages I intended to convey and as they highlight the importance and value of freedom which we often tend to take for granted or neglect. Both had equal weights on me as one talked about future potential while the other was about having a venue for expressing one’s essence and having a form of self-respect.
The desire for freedom becomes stronger when it is faced with threats of suppression.
      Appreciate your note. πŸ™‚
